Interval Oscillation of a Second Order Nonlinear Differential Equation with a Damping Term
Using generalized Riccati transformations, we derive new interval oscillation criteria for a class of second order nonlinear differential equations with damping. Our theorems prove to be efficient in many cases where known results fail to apply.

Let U(t, ) be solution of the Dirichlet problem y''+( t-q(t))y= 0 - 1 t l y(-l)= 0 = y(x), with variabIe t on (-1, x), for fixed x, which satisfies the initial condition U(-1, )=0 , (-1, )=1. In this paper, the asymptotic representation of the corresponding eigenfunctions of the eigen values has been investigated . Furthermore, the leading term of the asymptotic formula for ...
متن کاملOscillation of Second-order Nonlinear Differential Equations with Damping
We study oscillatory properties of solutions to a class of nonlinear second-order differential equations with a nonlinear damping. New oscillation criteria extend those reported in [ROGOVCHENKO, Yu. V.—TUNCAY, F.: Oscillation criteria for second-order nonlinear differential equations with damping, Nonlinear Anal. 69 (2008), 208–221] and improve a number of related results. c ©2014 Mathematical ...
متن کاملOscillation Theorems for Second Order Nonlinear Differential Equations with Damping
Some oscillation criteria for solutions of a general ordinary differential equation of second order of the form (r(t)ψ(x(t))ẋ(t))+h(t)ẋ(t)+q(t)φ(g(x(t)),r(t)ψ(x(t))ẋ(t)) = H(t,x(t), ẋ(t)) with alternating coefficients are discussed. Our results improve and extend some existing results in the literature. Some illustrative examples are given with its numerical solutions which are computed using R...
متن کاملInterval Oscillation Criteria for Second Order Mixed Nonlinear Forced Impulsive Differential Equation with Damping Term
In this paper, interval oscillation criteria are established for second order forced impulsive differential equations with mixed nonlinearities of the form ⎧⎪⎨ ⎪⎩ ( r(t)Φα(x′(t)) )′ + p(t)Φα(x′(t))+q(t)Φα(x(t))+ n ∑ i=1 qi(t)Φβi (x(t)) = e(t), t = τk, x(τk) = akx(τk), x′(τk+) = bkx′(τk), k = 1,2, . . . . The results obtained in this paper extend some of the existing results and are illustrated ...
